  This publication contains full text articles regarding developments on Capitol Hill. A user may browse through articles in the current issue or search for past articles by words, dates, subjects, or other criteria. The Web service also provides users with access to some CQ Weekly articles prior to their availability in print.
• Environmental Science and Pollution Management (Carnegie Mellon users only)
  This database focuses upon environmentally related literature and Internet links produced by Cambridge Scientific. It contains citations and abstracts to journal articles, conference proceedings, reports, monographs, books, and government publications. Some of the subfiles in this database include Pollution Abstracts, Water Resources RouteNet, Ecology Abstracts, and EIS: Digests of Environmental Impact Statements.
• Web of Science (Carnegie Mellon users only)
  1945- (updated weekly)
  Web of Science is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the literature of the sciences, social sciences and the arts & humanities. Users may choose to search across all the databases, or select just one. This unique database indexes and links cited references for each article. All formats provide complete bibliographic data and additional features, such as cited reference searching, links to related articles, plus author and publisher addresses.

  The EPA site provides laws, regulations, information, and educational resources concerning the environment and government policies.
  
  
• U.S. Department of Energy
  The DOE provides information regarding the U.S. energy related policies and access to the Environmental Policy & Guidance section which offers environmental data and reports.
  
  
• Council on Environmental Quality
  From the office of the President, this site includes information on Executive environmental policies and activities.
  
  
• United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP)
  The UNEP site contains information on UN programs, environmental data sets, and links to other sites.
  
  
• United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
  The UNFCCC contains information about the Kyoto Protocol, including participants, the text of the Convention, the text of the Protocol and numerous other related links.

• Brownfields Center
  The Brownfields Center is a joint effort between Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh to explore issues regarding the revitalization of idle industrial sites.

  Environment and energy news and data at the state level. View by state, compare data, or search for past news stories.
  
  
• Environmental Council of the States
  A national nonprofit, nonpartisan association of state and territorial environmental commissioners. The site has policy statements, projects, links to state environmental organizations, etc.
  
  
• EnviroLink
  This site contains up-to-date news on environmental issues and provides topics on a wide range of topics such as urban issues, climate change, ground pollution, the oceans, and sustainable development.
  
  
• National Center for Policy Analysis: Environment
  This site provides analysis of issues related to enironmental policy in many key areas. The NCPA is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research organization.
  
  
• National Council for Science and the Environment
  This site includes access to the National Library for the Environment (NLE). The latter provides free access to many types of environmental information and data.
  
  
• Resources for the Future
  RFF is a nonprofit, notpartisan think tank that conducts independent research on environmental and natural resource issues. The RFF site includes a library reference desk and research areas in environment, natural resources, intersections of several areas, and a methods, tools and techniques section.
  
  
• World Resources Institute
  The WRI is an environmental research and policy organization. Their site provides access to Earth Trends, their environmental information portal, which contains a searchable database, data tables, country profiles, and maps.
  
  
• WWW Virtual Library: Urban Environmental Management
  This site provides documents, chronicles, statistics, and numerous links on many environmental and public policy topics of interest.
