Alcoa chief thinks 'green'
Alcoa Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer Alain Belda told shareholders in
Pittsburgh yesterday that the
company had set ambitious environmental goals,
including reducing emissions of
greenhouse gasses by 25 percent by 2010 and
cutting the amount of waste it
sends to landfills by 50 percent by 2007. He
outlined a number of other objectives
designed to make Alcoa the best
company in the world. "This
is a quest for perfection," Belda said.
