Workshops In-school workshop for teachers and/or students (5th to 12th grade) covering some or all of these areas: technique, repertoire, history of the guitar and, theory applied to the guitar. Also, the many types of guitars and how to choose an instrument can be included in any discussion. II. Masterclasses Selected students (5th grade to adults in the community), both soloists and ensembles, come together in a non-stressful, relaxing, informal venue and play for and with the Ferla-Marcinizyn Guitar Duo who make suggestions about interpretation and technique. III. Lecture-Recitals Using our various instruments from Renaissance lutes and guitars to classical and steel-string guitars and banjos, we can present an exciting, interesting demonstration for K to adults. Our presentation can cover everything from a discussion of the woods used in making instruments to a social history of the guitar. In addition to a purely instrumental program, songs from different periods can be presented as part of a "sing-a-long." |
