Indonesia
Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia comprising about
17,000 islands. With a population of around 238 million
people that makes it the fourth most populous country
in the world, Indonesia consists of many distinct ethnic
and linguistic groups. The country’s tropical climate and
beautiful beaches are a major attraction to tourists.
Culture
Batik is a traditional Javanese method of cloth-dyeing.
Historically, certain patterns can only be work by nobility while different
regions of Indonesia can have their own unique patterns for
everyday wear. Today, Batik is prevalent as a fashion item for both
casual and formal wear, involving a diverse range of colors, fabrics, and patterns.
