  Find resources at Carnegie Mellon University Libraries.

• Pittcat
  Find resources at University of Pittsburgh Libraries including Frick Fine Arts Library and Hillman Library. To borrow from Pitt use Interlibrary Loan or show current Carnegie Mellon ID at Hillman Library circulation desk. Pitt’s Frick Fine Arts Library is the best regional collection of art history materials.

Use article databases and related tools to look for articles. Article databases give citation information (i.e. author, title, journal name, date, etc.) about articles in periodicals, and may include an abstract or even the full-text of an article.

  Find articles in arts periodicals.

• Art Index Retrospective
  1929-1984
  Find articles, reviews, and art reproductions in 300+ key international arts periodicals covering all aspects of art and art history including related disciplines of architecture, archeology, design, film, museology and photography.

• Bibliography of the History of Art
  1973-present
  Covers western art (including architecture and archeology) from late antiquity to the present. Includes articles, some books, conference proceedings and dissertations, and exhibition catalogs.

• Historical Abstracts
  1967-present
  Database of citations and abstracts to journals articles, book reviews, and dissertations in the areas of history, anthropology, political science, religion, etc. for all countries except the United States and Canada, from 1450 to the present.

• JSTOR
  Provides access to back issues of many scholarly journals.

• Project Muse
  Access to current full-text articles in humanities and social sciences journals.
