Maglite Lantern Adapter - 35mm film container

What you need: film container

This probabbly is the simpliest project on this website, yet you may find this very funtional if you are a Mini Maglite owner who loves traveling and camping. You can even make this when you are outdoor only with your Swiss army knife.

Materials:

  • film container - Fuji film 35mm, Kodak make their film case black so they are no use for this project.
  • your 2AA Mini Maglite

Tools:

  • exacto knife
  • file(round)
  • reamer (or anything that can make the initial hole
    on the lid)

1. The reamer on Swiss army knife works fine to make the initial hole on the lid of the film container. But it can be anything if it does the job. 2. Twist the reamer and work out the hole bigger.

3. When the hole is big enough, with exacto, shape the edge of the hole to make the hole as big as the centor lip.

4. Smooth out the edge with the file. 5. Compleat!. Note that the center lip is in tact.

6. Take off the head away from the Maglite and squeeze the lid on the Maglite. It may feel a little too tight in the begenning. Pushing firmly with screw motion will help the lid streach and fit on the screw on the Maglite. 7. Put the body of the film container on and it's ready. It shoud fit on the Maglite snagly and should not waggle.
