Computerized Planning: Insertion-Depth Effect
The current study presents simulated thermal histories in Prostate Model D, resulting from optimal cryoprobe layouts, generated using the bubble-packing planning scheme.
Color coding for the cross- sectional images in the movies:
Note: The blue surface on the 3D image represents the -22°C isotherm
Case studies (movies)
• Uniform insertion depth: 14 cryoprobes, each having an active length of 25 mm • Variable insertion depth: 20 cryoprobes, each having an active length of 15 mm • Variable insertion depth: 14 cryoprobes, each having an active length of 25 mm • Variable insertion depth: 14 cryoprobes, each having an active length of 35 mm • Pullback procedure: 14 cryoprobes in Cycle I and 7 cryoprobes in Cycle II, each having an active length of 25 mm (uniform insertion depth at each stage; the -22°C isotherm from the end of Cycle I is held stationary during the simulation of Cycle II)
