Michaelis-Menten Kinetics
- The Michaelis-Menten equation is:
vo = Vmax[A]/(KM + [A])
, where
- vo = the initial velocity;
- Vmax = the maximal velocity;
- [A] = the substrate concentration;
- KM = [A] at half-maximal velocity, i.e.the Michaelis constant.
The Michaelis-Menten parameters are determined from the slope and the intercepts of a Lineweaver-Burk Plot as shown below:
