Instructions:
  • Clicking on "Unmodified" loads the structure for the non-mutated or unmodified enzyme.
  • Clicking on "Trp1" loads the structure for the first mutant, "Trp2" loads the structure of the 2nd mutant, etc.
  • Clicking on "Simple View" shows the backbone atoms, a bound substrate (Ala-Ala-Arg-Ala) in thick sticks, and the sidechains of some important residues in thinner sticks.
Note:You may find that clicking on an atom no longer identifies the atom at the bottom of the Netscape window. In this case you need to change the 'Mouse click action' to 'Toggle atom label'. To do so follow the following instructions:
  1. Depress the right mouse button to get the pop-up menu.
  2. Select 'Select'
  3. Select 'Mouse Click Action'
  4. Select 'Toggle Atom Label'
Now when you click on an atom, the label will appear in the Chime window, next to the atom.
