Algorithms Discussion Group, Fall 2010

We'll be meeting in GHC 4303 on Thursday evenings to discuss algorithmic issues that arise in programming contest problems. We'll supply problems to talk about, but the discussion is open. Please bring problems you need help with, or those that you think will be of interest to the rest of the group.

• Sept 9th: PDF.
• Sept 16th: PDF.
• Sept 23rd: PDF. We'll also present a solution to SGU 138. Games of Chess which we talked about before.
• Sept 30th: We discussed problems remaining from previous sets.
• Oct 7th: PDF, and also this PuyoPuyo problem from a Topcoder contest on Wednesday.
• Oct 14th: Today we'll talk about problems that have come up in our recent practice contests, as well as these problems from recent ECNA regional competitions. We'll also be looking at some code from the practice contest on the 13th.
