Initial User Group Backgrounds
The following is a description of the selected user group along with several initial sketches. These sketches were done as part of a brainstorming exercise to identify rough opportunities for product development.
Communication between professionals/caretakers and individuals
A large problem for caregivers and patients has been a language barrier where medical information is miss-communicated. Often this results when medical information is given in a manner too technical or over simplistic for the user. Such situations can result in unclear directions, such as when medication is supposed to be taken. Additionally, the needs of patients are also not properly communicated. It has been found that 60% of seniors feel that they misunderstand their physician.
The opportunity in this situation is for devices that would allow patients and caregivers to communicate medical information, establish routines, and monitor overall wellness.
