Writing Assignments
All remaining writing assignments are to be individually written, typed,
double spaced and 2 pages maximum. Late papers will be deducted 5% per day.
Please use your SSN and do not include your name on individual
papers.
Writing Assignment #2: Introduction
Due in class on March 20th
Your second writing assignment is to write the Introduction to the class
experiment using APA format. Specifically, this section should include the
following:
- The overall issue we investigated
- Our specific hypotheses
- The theoretical reasoning behind each hypothesis
- Our independent variable(s)
- Our dependent variable(s)
Writing Assignment #3: Methods
Due in class on April 3rd
Your third writing assignment is to write the Methods section of the class
experiment using APA format. Specifically, this section should include the
following:
- Who participated?
- How were they recruited?
- How were they assigned to condition?
- What did they do?
- Include the IVs and IVMs, the DVs and DVMs.
Writing Assignment #4: Results
Due in class on April 10th
Your fourth writing assignment is to write the results section of the class
experiment using APA format. Specifically, this section should include the
following:
- The overall results and whether or not they support the hypotheses
- Appropriate summaries of the data and statistical analyses
- (Be sure to completely label all tables/graphs)
Writing Assignment #5: Discussion
Due in class on April 17th
Your fifth writing assignment is to write the discussion section of the
class experiment using APA format. Specifically, this section should
include the following:
- Implications of your results:
- Do they support your initial hypotheses?
- What do the results mean?
- (In the case of n.s. results, you should discuss possible interpretations)
- Two limitations of your study (may include plausible alternative
explanations)
