October 6, 2005 Based on some recent discussion among instructors, and after review by the Office of General Counsel, I am making the following policy regarding recording of lectures and classroom discussions: Classroom activities may be taped or recorded by (i) a disabled student for the student's personal study, (ii) the University for non-commercial University purposes, or (iii) a student for study by any student currently enrolled in the course. No student may make copies of the original recording without the instructor's written permission. This policy will appear in the course syllabus of future offerings.
