WELCOME!

"ART OF LIVING"  is affiliated with ART OF LIVING FOUNDATION. This organization is an INTERNATIONAL  non-profit educational and humanitarian misson active in over 140 countries, and is also affiliated with the UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATION.

This is the website of the Pittsburgh College Team of Art of Living, set up as a collaborative effort between students at Carnegie Mellon University and University of  Pittsburgh. Through a series of courses offered in groups, ART OF LIVING members learn simple, practical, and effective mental relaxation techniques based on Yoga, Meditation and Breathing. Highly recommended for students, business executives, and entrepreneurs.

ART OF LIVING is a non-denominational, non-discriminatory, non-religious organization. It lays emphasis on basic human values of friendliness and compassion. Interested members can participate in organized volunteer opportunities at a local and global level. The members of ART OF LIVING make future teachers and community leaders.

The Art of Living BASIC COURSE offers the practical wisdom of how to live gracefully in a stressful world, and also the deep spiritual experience necessary to put that knowledge into action. This course teaches the Sudarshan Kriya technique, along with a wealth of other information. Sudarshan Kriya is a form of Pranayam, which literally means the excercise of the breath. By focussing on the breath using this technique, the mind automatically calms down. With a calm mind,  self-examination becomes easier, clarity and focus increase and one gets connected with one's own core self. This relaxes the body and fills it with energy, and even the most mundane thing appears to be very interesting and important. Some one once described it as putting the mind through a spin cycle, and others call it a natural high. Whatever it is, the results are tremendously positive and there are absolutely no negative side effects at all.  Experience it for yourself!

Independent medical research findings have demonstrated that the course techniques reduce stress, depression and anxiety, and restore normal sleep patterns, among other benefits. People who have taken the course have reported improved mental health, peaceful emotions, enhanced creativity, calmness and focus. The four "C"s have overall increased: Clarity, Confidence, Concentration and Commitment.

This 6 day "Basic Course" entitles you to a life membership in the global ART OF LIVING organization. In addition, members can take part in weekly group training on-campus free of cost, and obtain daily newsletters from the organization.
