Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank
The mission of the Food Bank is to make food available to hungry people in Allegheny and the surrounding counties. The Food Bank is a central clearinghouse for donated food and other products to be distributed to agencies that service the needs of the hungry.
Service Opportunities:
Sorting and repackaging the food products recieved-
Requires people who can stand on their feet for several hours at a time.
Clerical functions-
Requires minimal proficiency with typewriters, computers and office equipment.
Mass bulk mailings
Collecting food and transporting it to warehouse during food drives-
Requires the ability to drive and lift.
Representing the Food Bank at booths during public activites such as sports events or concerts-
Requires good communication skills and commitment to Food Bank Mission.
