Abraham E. Polanco Martínez
I am currently a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University in the Chemical Engineering Department. I am co-advised by Dr. Tagbo Niepa (ubiointerface Dr. Niepa’s Lab) and by Dr. Rebecca Taylor (Microsystems and Mechanobiology Lab). Prior to the PhD program, I worked as a process development engineer in Boston Scientific (medical device company). I completed by undergraduate degree in Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico in 2023.
Current Projects
My research objective is to utilize DNA origami to attach them to Candida auris, which is a multi-drug-resistant fungi, to find ways to detect and eradicate this fungus.
