Dither: ADC
•Adding ~1 bit (RMS) of noise to a signal that is “quiet” relative to the ADC bucket size throws the result of any particular measurement sometimes into a lower bucket, sometimes into a higher bucket; the average of multiple digitizations has a standard deviation that is smaller than the bucket width, i.e., it has more precision than the underlying ADC
