August 2001

Chateau Frontenac, landmark of the city of Quebec

Our visit to Quebec City coincided with the Festival of New France, or more appropriately, Les Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France, celebrating French colonial days and the region's rich French heritage.

Hmmm, wonder what's in this patisserie...

Sweet stuff from the patisserie!

More sweet stuff, but this time maple soft-serve ice cream!

Outside the Saint-Louis Gate, one of the gates in the wall surrounding the fortified old city

On the wall, significant since Quebec is the only remaining fortified city in North America.
