We took a ferry from Port Angeles, Washington to Victoria, British Columbia, so that we could enjoy a trip into Canada during our Pacific Northwest trip. Victoria is a beautiful "City of Gardens" known for its flowers and British tea, and we enjoyed both. Diane and our oldest daughter went to a formal high tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel and enjoyed the great food and atmosphere, while Mike poked around the Victoria Harbor with the rest of the family. On the next day we went to Butchart Gardens and were awestruck by the arrangements. Before we headed back on the ferry the following day, we enjoyed a trip to the Royal British Columbia Museum, with interesting displays on "Celebrating Royalty," totem poles/early native life, gold mines, and the timber industry. |
