Air Transportation

The Pittsburgh International Airport is served by AirTran, America West, USA 3000, US Airways, Delta, NorthWest, Continental, United, American. Free wireless access is available in the food court, and there is a very good shopping mall.

Ground Transportation

The Pittsburgh International Airport is located approximately 21 miles from Oakland (CMU). There are several ground transportation options available to travelers:

Port Authority Transportation (public transportation) - (412-442-2000). PAT's Airport Flyer 28X Bus stops at Robinson Town Centre, Downtown (3 locations) and Oakland. The Oakland stop is at South Bellefield Avenue (1-2 block walk to Holiday Inn). Service on the 28X Airport Flyer is from 5:00 a.m. -- 10:45 p.m. daily, at 20 minute to 30 minute intervals. The trip takes 45-60 minutes and costs 2.25$ per person, exact change required. Boarding is at the lower level at ground transportation bus stop (near baggage claim at blue curb).

Airlines Transportation Company - (412-321-4990). Purchase ticket from attendant at their location in the baggage claim area of the airport. The cost is $26.00 per person round trip. The bus leaves the baggage claim area on the hour from 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. weekdays. The Oakland stop is the Holiday Inn at University Center.

Yellow Cab Service - approximately $40 per trip plus gratuity. Follow ground transportation signs in the airport. Cabs are always waiting and available.

First Class Limousine Service - (412-462-8000). $46.00 per trip (includes gratuity). Call several days in advance and give them your flight information. They will have a car and driver waiting for you on your arrival.

Car Rental: Several car rental companies have desks in the airport: Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty.
