We are a group of colloid scientists and chemical engineers working on the potential engineering applications of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). Moreover, we are very enthusiastic in understanding the underlying physical phenomena that govern the magnetophoretic behaviors of MNPs based upon the existing framework of colloid science. Our current research interests can be sub-divided into three main areas: Magnetophoretic separation of microalgae. The magnetophoresis of MNPs tagged microalgae under inhomogeneous field is investigated experimentally and theoretically. MNP-polymer hybrid materials. MNP augmented polymeric microcapsule is employed for a variety of pollutants removal from water resources. Colloidal stability of MNPs. The magnetophoretic behaviors of surface functionalized MNPs are tested under low gradient and high gradient magnetic field.
