Currently, I am working on the low gradient magnetic separation (LGMS) of motile microalgae by using magnetic particles. The purpose of this study is to understand the effect of magnetophoresis towards the self-swimming behaviors of the microalgae. It is expected that the kinematic study is adequate to describe the magnetophoresis of microswimmer which subsequently provides fundamental insights for LGMS of motile cell. Besides, part of my research is to prepare magnetic microspheres by incorporation of iron oxide nanoparticles onto colloidal polystyrene particles in the presence of polyelectrolyte as the binder via layer-by-layer assembly technique. |
