ARDIS
ARDIS presently owned by Motorola and previously in joint venture with IBM. It offers service in over 400 metropolitan areas. The ARDIS network supports a data rate of 4.8 Kbps and with upgrades underway will be to 19.2 Kbps in some areas.
Service Offerings
- Personal Messaging: Two way, real time wireless messaging to othre ARDIS personal messaging subscribers. Numeric and alphanumeric paging available from any touch phone. It also supports wireless faxes.
- Radio Mail: Two-way, interactive, wireless messaging service that allows mobile users to ride the internet wave and communicate with other radioMail subscribers. Provisions for information bulletin services such as: the latest news, sport score etc.
