American Locomotive Company
The American Locomotive Company was a former steam locomotive manufacturer in Schenectady, NY. Initially they became the number 2 diesel-maker, behind EMD, only to falter as General Electric, who traditionally provided electrical equipment for Alco's engines, decided to make a go of the market for itself.
