- The National Institute for Newman Studies. Pittsburgh , PA. May 2005. Consulted with Father Drew Morgan regarding copyright issues and their plans to digitize a collection of 6,000 titles by or about John Henry Newman.
- University of Kansas. Lawrence, KS. March 2005. Invited to give a library-wide presentation and meet with the University Libraries Deans and with the Assessment Council to discuss the importance of communication and relationship building within and beyond the Libraries.
- Digital Library Federation (DLF). January 2005. Invited to critique a forthcoming evaluation registry where DLF members will deposit the results of research designed to understand user information and service needs and to assess the use, usability, and perceived value of digital library collections, services, user interfaces, etc.
- American Library Association ( ALA ) Office for Information Technology Policy. November 2004. Invited to meet with ALA congressional lobbyists to present the results of Carnegie Mellon University Libraries’ research in seeking copyright permission for open access and to discuss research designs aimed at informing public policy.
- La Salle University. February 2004. Philadelphia, PA. Invited to develop and deliver a half-day presentation for the provost, deans, and other administrators: “Creating a Culture of Evidence.”
- Pittsburgh District Library Center Workshop. May 2003. Pittsburgh, PA. Invited to develop and present a full-day workshop: “Evaluating Library Services: Using Data to Improve Service to Our Customers.”
- Center for Jewish History. February 2003. New York, NY. Invited and agreed to serve on the Advisory Committee for an IMLS proposal submitted by the Center for Jewish History. (Proposal not funded.)
- Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) and Yale. March 2002. Critiqued and provided suggestions for revising a survey of academic library considerations when planning a significant renovation of a library facility. Also provided list of tools and sources for Web-based surveys.
- Pennsylvania State University. September 2001. State College, PA. Trained library staff to conduct user protocols, analyze and interpret the data, and use the results in strategic planning.
- Silver Lining. 1995. Described human factors and other research and development concerns related to the design and functionality of a user interface for information retrieval.
- University of Missouri Libraries. 1995. Kansas City, MO. Trained library staff to conduct focus groups.
- University of Missouri Libraries, Task Force on Distributed Computing. 1994. Columbia, MO. Described and discussed the architecture and issues of distributed information retrieval. Months later gave an interactive Q&A session via satellite to staff in all branches of the University of Missouri .
- Faxon Canada. 1993. Analyzed retrieval software and reported problems in interface design and functionality.
