The work area is now complete, except for some trim.
The new pantry in back starts to take shape.
By far the most labor-intensive part was removing not only the tile in the area (whoever thought of selecting white as an appropriate color for such a room?), but also the substandard flooring underneath down to the original tongue-in-groove boards, and putting new tile on newly installed cement board.
