(near) Konya: Government-sponsored rug-weaving training center. Several exist in Turkey, where young girls are trained in the elaborate trade/art of making "two-knot" wool and silk rugs. After their apprenticeship, they can stay at the training center and earn a wage based on number of knots/day (@ ~200/cm²) or set up their own independent business.
