What's on this page:
- Links to pages on 20th- (and eventually, early
21st-century) businesses
- Links to some individual businesses highlighted on their
own pages
- Links to business listings in city directories
- Links to business listings on map indexes
A note about this revised page: The previous pages on
20th-century businesses have been broken up into more kinds of
businesses, see below for links. Photos and ads are being added,
including many sent
by
correspondents, and corrections, additions, comments
and anecdotes from
correspondents continue to be added. I still have more contributed
information to add -- I'm working through a backlog, for which I
apologize.
Most of these new business pages also include lists of these kinds of
businesses that were listed in some directories and maps 1900-1940. A
few pages/businesses from the old pages that didn't get transferred
(e.g., Recreation) will be taken care of in the near future. Additional
pages for 19th-century businesses are in progress. Please visit and
enjoy! All corrections and additions are most welcome.
