Hotels and travel information
We recommend staying at the Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center, which is the closest hotel to campus. You can obtain our conference rate by booking through this link. They are holding a block of rooms for us until December 15, but once the block is full, the rate is subject to availability.
Additional hotels and travel information can be found on Carnegie Mellon's visitor page.
If you are an invited speaker or supported by AFOSR funds, please remember that you must fly on a US carrier for reimbursement. We will make hotel reservations for you directly.
Airport transportation
You can take the public 28X bus directly the airport to CMU and the Wyndham. It runs approximately every 30 minutes, with the last buses leaving the airport around midnight and the first buses arriving around 4:15am. The trip usually takes about an hour. Pay the $2.75 fare to the driver. Note that the drivers will not make change, so get some coins at the airport or be prepared to overpay.
Alternatively, there are many taxis at the airport. A trip to CMU will cost around $50 plus tip. Lyft and Uber also operate in Pittsburgh.
Warning: At least one participant was contacted by someone claiming to be a taxi service from Pittsburgh. This is likely a scam. If you encounter suspicious behavior, please let us know (avigad@cmu.edu and rob.y.lewis@gmail.com).
