History of Freeland,
Pa. Freeland High School, class of 1941 |
|
The photos of items on this page come from Mike Marine in memory of his mother, Mary Macknik, who graduated from Freeland High in 1941 and who loved FHS and Freeland. She was a daughter of Rev. Basil and Mary Macknik, he being pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul's Eastern Greek Catholic Church. The final items on the page show the program from the previous year's FHS commencement, the 39th annual FHS Commencement in 1940. FHS cheers! It was a long sheet, and I received the scans in two parts. What fun to see what kind of cheers they were yelling in 1941. Here is the program for a lighthearted evening of performances conducted near the end of the school year, on May 8-9, 1941. Also, the program for the FHS Class Night Exercises that year, June 10, 1941. Lots of familiar names on these programs. Program from the 1941 Grads' Banquet, held at Pocono Manor. Program for the 39th annual FHS Commencement, June 13, 1940, so this is the year BEFORE Mary graduated. Page 3 holds the class roll, naming everyone in the class. Page 4 lists the Board of School Directors and the Faculty. |
