These two ads (above and top left) for John D. Hayes and Charles Orion Stroh and are typical for the time - they appeared in the 1890 Freeland Tribune. Also shown here is the front of the second floor of the Birkbeck Building (at Centre and Main streets). The building had stores on the ground floor and offices and club rooms (and for a short time, MMI) upstairs. In this photo the 3 left windows were for Charles Orion Stroh, and they advertised his notary and other services.
