Following that, there are two short lists of hairdressers who were listed in the 1928-1929 and 1940 Freeland directories. V. - 822 Front Williams, Violet A. - 923 Birkbeck The article shown above left is dated 3-9-1939 and comes from Sean Carr, who wrote: "My sweet Aunt Nan Brogan (nee Suzanne Carr), my father's oldest sister, ran her beauty shop in her home at 210 Washington Street until she retired. Found this article in the Hazleton Plain Speaker, dated 9 March, 1939, when she first opened her shop in my grandparents' home on Walnut Street." The ad is also from 1939 and comes from Ed Merrick.
