What is your favorite memory of Mr. Yuk (on-field)?

At day two of Fall Easterns I was guarding a player who had just faked deep and came under. I was already a little tired but was right on his tail and when the throw came up I knew it would be close. That's when I heard Eric Li from our sideline screaming "BID RICCI BID" or something and I closed my eyes and clumsily bid as far as I could with my arms outstretched in front of the guy. The disc ended up getting caught in the wind and thrown way over both me and the guy I was guarding, going to nobody in the end. Only when I was lying facedown in the grass did it strike me how hilarious that sequence of events must've looked from the sideline as tons of raucous laughter filled my ears. At that point, I did what anyone in my shoes would've done at the time--I got up, dabbed, and went to go play some killer D-line offense baby.

Do you have a favorite cheer or celebration?

Although I am a big fan and supporter of the disc-flip-into-dab-spike combination, the “All Hail King Richard” celebration is my favorite one.

What was your first experience with Mr. Yuk?

The games after playfair during o-week, it was incredibly fun and addicting! I remember throwing hucks with Jasper Tom afterwards and I shanked every single one, making him run from one side of the cut to the other continually.

How can you tell if I'm in the zone?

When I get in the zone I’m very positive and high energy. I’ll be making plays and feeling confident on the field and cheering for my teammates when I’m on the sideline.

What is your "go-to" move on the field?

I’ve come to love the polar op cut, and my favorite throw is a high release backhand into space for the score 😫

What is your pre-game ritual?

Taking some time by myself to really focus and be serious gives me the intensity I want during a game or tournament

What is something your teammates probably don't know about you?

I am one of five children in my family, and the first one to start playing ultimate!

If you didn’t do ultimate at CMU, what would you be doing?

If I sprint down to get on the mark before the first throw gets off

Bio

I came into CMU having casually played ultimate a few times in high school and barely being able to throw a flick. Needless to say, I improved a lot and am now hoping to help Yuk on the field as a cutter and off the field as a core member. When I'm not doing ultimate stuff (not very often) you can find me working as an EXCEL leader for physics, jamming out to disco music, and getting called cute by my teammates.

What’s your favorite tournament Mr. Yuk has gone to?

Regionals my freshman year was super fun! We peaked at the right time as a team and had a shot in the game to go on our home turf. Even though we didn't make natties, those last few games were so hype and I can't wait to get back there next year!

Did you have a pre-game or tournament ritual?

Listening to Earth, Wind & Fire before a game always helps me get into the right headspace. The music is just so fun, and I play a lot better when I'm having fun.

What is your "go-to" move on the field?

The full sprint break-side under to deep cut to force-side under. Rinse and repeat and you'll get wide open since your defender probably wishes he was playing any other sport than ultimate.

Did you have a favorite cheer or celebration?

My new favorite celebration is the flock of birds. After you score, run around and flap your arms like wings and hope your teammates join you so you look less foolish. This is the celly that got me into the QCTU tournament highlights video so you know it's legit. Honorable mentions include: rocking the baby, naptime, and (of course) the staredown.

What was your favorite memory of Mr. Yuk (off-field)?

Ric making an absolute fool of himself at the mixer with the Pitt women's team... no comment on how it turned out in the end though #oopsie
