This course continues to further the development of communicative language proficiency: oral practice, aural comprehension, reading, writing, and the study of cultural aspects in Japanese society. Furthermore, the elementary-level language course is designed to help students learn to reflect upon and draw upon strategies used by good language learners in their second language study. Four hours in-class instruction per week, plus mandatory homework assignments. Prerequisite: 82-171 or approved equivalent.
