This course is offered to the orchestral and choral conductors. The goal of this course is to train the conductors in the analytic techniques of the music of the 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th Centuries. Students are required to prepare and perform four-part transcriptions of chorales by J.S. Bach. Students are also asked to prepare short scores and analyze the harmonic progression, orchestration, form, and articulation/phrasing of selected repertoire.
