This course takes a project based approach to understanding the top-down design of an embedded system by asking each student enrolled to build their own MP3 player. Only a little electronics experience is necessary -- no more than the topics covered in 18-100. Topics covered include reading datasheets, programming microcontrollers, and the CompactFlash interface.
