Units:9.0
Department:History
Related URLs:http://www.history.cmu.edu

Both Blacks and Jews have faced a history of persecution and discrimination. They have each been victimized; But have they faced their hardships together? This mini course is an attempt to explore each group's experience in America both separately and together. We will survey the history of Blacks and the history of Jews in America while trying to understand the dynamic particularly of twentieth century Black and Jewish relations. What went right? What went wrong? There will be a number of invited speakers to provide some additional contemporary perspectives.
