Democratic Presidential candidate John F. Kerry will campaign at Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday. The rally will begin at 3 pm on the Hamerschlag Mall and will feature a surprise musical guest. Kerry will speak about the Kerry-Edwards plan for a stronger America in a history-making event, according to the Kerry campaign. Tickets for a preferred viewing area are available on the Kerry website.
Kerry's visit will mark the second time in less than a month that a Democratic hopeful has stopped at Carnegie Mellon. Kerry's running-mate, John Edwards, campaigned here just three weeks ago (John Edwards campaigns at Carnegie Mellon).
A poll of Pennsylvania voters, conducted by Quinnipiac University on October 11, showed Kerry in front of his Republican opponent, President George W. Bush, 49 to 47.
Al Gore also campaigned on the Hamerschlag Mall four years ago in his unsuccessful race for the presidency against Bush.
